Who is Navaan Sandhu?

Navaan Sandhu, born on 8 August 1995 in Amritsar, Punjab, is an Indian singer, songwriter and composer who has become one of the most distinctive voices of the modern, globally-minded Punjabi scene. Blending pop, rap and electronic textures with classically grounded vocals, he built his reputation through a long partnership with UK producers before stepping fully into the mainstream — and in 2026 released his most ambitious project yet, the album Bipolar, opened by the Dhanda Nyoliwala collaboration Kath Lagda.

Early life and training

Sandhu was born and raised in Amritsar, in the Majha region of Punjab — a heartland he would later reference in his music. Crucially for his sound, he trained as a vocalist at the Gurmeet Bawa Sangeet Academy in Amritsar, the school founded in the name of the legendary Punjabi folk singer Gurmeet Bawa.
