Who is Elvish Yadav?
Elvish Yadav, born on 14 September 1997, is an Indian YouTuber, content creator and entrepreneur, and one of the most-followed digital creators in the country. In 2023 he won the second season of Bigg Boss OTT, the first wildcard contestant in the franchise's history to lift the trophy, and he has since moved into music videos, including the 2026 Punjabi single Sadi Sun.
Early life and education
He was born and raised in Wazirabad, Gurgaon, in Haryana. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Hansraj College, Delhi. His Haryanvi roots and everyday, relatable humour became central to the on-screen persona he built, and he still performs largely in Haryanvi-inflected Hindi.
YouTube career
Yadav launched his main YouTube channel on 29 April 2016 and built an audience with comedy sketches, "desi" vlogs and roast-style videos rooted in Haryanvi slang and middle-class Indian life. The channel grew into one of the largest in India, with around 15.8 million subscribers and roughly 25 million across his three channels. His catchphrase and rallying cry, "Systumm", became the name of both his fanbase and his clothing brand.
Bigg Boss OTT 2
In 2023 he entered Bigg Boss OTT season 2 as a wildcard contestant and went on to win, taking the ₹25 lakh prize and finishing ahead of runner-up Abhishek Malhan, a fellow YouTuber. No wildcard had ever won a season of the franchise before, and the victory carried his fame from YouTube into mainstream television and entertainment.
Ventures and philanthropy
Beyond content, Yadav has built businesses around his brand, including Systumm Clothing, and is regularly cited among the highest-earning Indian creators of his generation. He has also used his platform for charitable work supporting underprivileged children.
Music
After his Bigg Boss win, Yadav moved into music videos, fronting releases such as "Hum Toh Deewane" (with Yasser Desai and Urvashi Rautela), "Bolero" (with Asees Kaur and Preetinder) and "Chore Haryana Aale" (with Ankit Baiyanpuriya). In 2026 he starred opposite Simrat Kaur Randhawa in Sadi Sun, a Punjabi romantic single sung by Harsh Nussi. In these videos it is his on-screen presence, rather than his vocals, that anchors the song.
Snake-venom case
In November 2023 an FIR was registered against Yadav in Noida over allegations involving the use of snake venom at parties, and he was arrested in March 2024 under the Wildlife (Protection) Act before being released on bail within days. On 21 March 2026 the Supreme Court of India quashed the proceedings, ruling that the substance did not fall under the schedule of the NDPS Act and that the complaint lacked proper authorisation, while leaving room for fresh action through the correct legal channels.
Legacy
Elvish Yadav is one of the defining figures of India's creator economy: a YouTuber who turned a Haryanvi everyman persona into a national brand, a reality-television title and a foothold in music and entertainment. His "Systumm" community remains one of the most active and vocal fanbases in Indian digital media.
